2009 is upon us and I’m starting it off sick! Boohoo. Last year, us and the besties headed to the east coast and celebrated 08 New York style – GREAT times. To ring in 2009 we stayed local with a group of 9 and had dinner in Rockridge at Citron. This was our first time dining at Citron which was really cute, it was NYE ready with balloons. We each opted for 3 courses for $65, with drinks it ended up being $100 per person – not too bad I suppose. The presentation was excellent – my first course was lobster bisque and avocado lobster salad, second course was steak (according to Lil Miss Fit I am to eat lots of steak and cinnamon rolls – shouldn’t be too hard – and for those who don’t know Miss Fit or more like Lil Misfit, she is my sister who is a fitness fanatic). For dessert I had sorbet with champagne – yummy! It was a great last meal for 2008 – on Yelp, many have reviewed Citron for brunch – will have to try!
After dinner we headed back to our friend’s home and played Loaded Questions. I must say, we learned some intimate details about our friends playing that game! Some people were just obsessed with midgets and baby blue undies. LOL The husband and I had a great time! Thanks for the laughs and cheers to many more dinners with those near and dear to our hearts! Hold up, how could I forget about what I wore! I am a self proclaimed shop-a-holic like most women. I love buying clothes and investing in quality pieces rather then quantity although I must say that I have been really good lately and trying to save especially in this crappy economy. Anyhow, I remember exactly what I wore last year… a 3.1 Phillip Lim pleated black blouse, paige skinny jeans and Prada knee high stiletto boots with a huge North Face puffer jacket – mind you, we were in NY and FREEZING. This year I knew I wanted to wear a dress with some sparkle. It is new years right?! I must admit that I check out shopbop.com daily, who can beat free shipping and no tax! I went with a Foley + Corrina two-tone silk-chiffon dress with rhinestone appliqué throughout paired with a flesh patent leather Jimmy Choo stiletto sandal. Lucky for me the dress was on sale! My dress arrived, tried it on and it was more sheer then I thought. Let’s just say, the dress could not be worn with a bra. I have always seen those sticker petals to cover nipples for us modest gals and had to try – they worked out and no peek a boo nipples were to be seen! Woo! I would use them again if need be. Back to shopbop, so that same day I noticed my dress was marked down even more! I was so mad, so I called, and to my surprise they credited me the difference! Hurray for shopbop – I am loving them even more. Now the hubby will have to take me out somewhere special so I can wear the sparkly frock again! Or better yet, if any of my gals want to borrow let me know! xoxo, bon |
