zumba
I have been neglecting my blog! I’ve pretty much been up to my usual self, work, lulu, xfit and now zumba!
I tried zumba for the first time this past Friday and fell in love with it. Zumba is a mix of all the latin dances on turbo mode with booty shakes and jumping for 60 mins. I have never sweat so much in my life! I sweat more in that hour then I did running 3 miles or even crossfit.
Speaking of crossfit. The husband and I just finished doing the CINDY.
“Cindy”
Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:
5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
15 Squats
My prediction before trying this WOD was 5. Boy, was I wrong! 20 mins is a long time! I managed to do 9! My arms feel as if they are going to fall off! Hehe…
Happy working out! Oh yes, on my weight front – it keeps fluctuating! I’m at 97 and I can’t seem to budge! =)

Recession?
Recession proof? Yah right! More like escaping just for a little bit. Welcome to a slice of the good life. Now back to the grind! Thinking of our next vacay – Grand Cayman anyone?

Hawaii
Alpha Female
My sister Amber is going to Kuwait to train clients. I am so excited for her. Am you are one tough cookie and I love you lots! Come back buff and ready to take those bikini shots.
Crossfit Built
Our friend Martin, recently got Crossfit certified and today marked our 2nd week of working out. Every Sunday our friends meet up and do about 15 minutes of core exercise. Check out what we do here. I absolutely love it! I have always been active most of my life, (I was a big time dancer back in the day) but have been lacking recently. Aside from walking 30 blocks daily to and from work, working out was non existent. So i’m thankful Martin has motivated us to get our lazy butts in gear. Perfect timing with the warm weather right around the corner and not to mention little itty bitty bikini season!
I’ve never had any issues with weight, if anything I have been under. I think it also helps that my close girlfriends are all very fit. Most are fitness fanatics: yoga teachers, dance instructors, belly dancers, professional cheerleaders, fat camp trainers, gymnasts and my sister happens to compete in Ms. Fitness. A girl has got to keep up with friends like that. Having a muffin top would be unacceptable! Speaking of my sister, she will be going to Kuwait to train her client. I’m excited and scared for her all at the same time.
Working out is so important – get that heart pumping. I hate it when I hear people say they don’t have time or make excuses, because there are no excuses. When we went to Ms. Fitness, half the competitors were mothers with full time jobs, 2.5 kids and were in AMAZING shape. All it takes is dedication. My goal is to have definition on my stomach and toned arms by summer. Wish me luck! Unfortunatley, we will have to miss crossfit next week… while we are in paradise, i’ll be trading in squats and pull ups for yoga on Kaanapali beach.
Namaste!
diapercake
So I recently went to a friend’s babyshower this past weekend. Since i’m not well versed on little, little people, I asked my friend Lenore to make me a diaper cake! She is meticulous and knew the product would be top notch. Lenore was in charge of buying all the baby gear and I decided to throw in some big gal stuff to show it was from me which included: Godiva chocolates, sumbody belly butter and bonbon salt scrub, mac hello kitty lipstick, the my melody cake topper and my favorite nursery ryhmes book “This Little Piggy Went to Prada“! Isn’t the diaper cake just so pretty?! Lenore did an AMAZING job – compliments left and right.
Time Flies…
…when you have 2 deadlines a week! My goodness, I can’t believe how fast January came and went! I was working such long hours I could hardly breathe. So what do I do when i’m super stressed? I plan a vacation! The hubby and I will be getting maui’d again in March and I can’t wait! Let the countdown begin!
John Legend 011209
We recently saw John Legend in concert. I love JL! The opening show was Estelle! The sad part, for the longest time we were trying to figure out who she was. We were clueless until she sang American Boy. John Legend is AMAZING live. We were so happy when he sang “So High” which was our wedding song… awwww. He sang songs across his 3 albums. LOVE LOVE LOVE him. For his last song, he showcased influential people like Martin Luther King, Ghandi, John Lennon, and of course lastly was Barack Obama. Just 2 days until the historic inauguration. So looking forward to CHANGE!
Officially Elite
Wow, I just logged onto Yelp and found out i’m an Elite Yelper! LOL To think I was planning on stopping yelp and just putting all my future reviews on here. May have to rethink that one. Now the hubby wants to be an Elite Yelper too… I guess he better start writing reviews then! I always wondered how one becomes elite – it turns out you have to be nominated and farely active. I had 83 reviews last year.
Anyhow, for the last two weeks I have been on holiday. It was really hard to go back to work, but I’m really thankful I had time to RELAX because I came back to 8 deadlines for the entire month of January! It’s going to be a busy month! I actually love the people I work with and enjoy what I do – FINALLY!
So yesterday my boss took our team out to lunch, guess which movie we all talked about with flying fantastic reviews?!! SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE! SM is on my top movies of all times list – it’s such a feel good movie. Without giving too much away, Slumdog Millionaire is set in India and tells the journey of a young poor man who wins the millions on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and is accused of cheating – it’s also a love story. I heart boutique-y foreign films. You know how you watch a movie and there are only a few memorable scenes you talk about, well ALL scenes from start to finish are discussion worthy. All I have say is you have to see it!
